Airports
There are three airport options to reach Serra Negra:
Cumbica (GRU) in Guarulhos - International airport
Congonhas (CGH) in São Paulo
Viracopos (VCP) in Campinas
Transport sharing
We will send a Google Sheet link by email to anyone who wants to share information about their arrivals and departures at airports and thus facilitate sharing of journeys (or short journeys) by taxi or Uber.
By car
Guarulhos to Serra Negra:
The best option is via the Fernão Dias Highway (BR-381). Take the Fernão Dias Highway to the junction at km 94, then take the SP-95 (João Beira Highway) and head to Amparo. In Amparo, follow the signs to Serra Negra (distance 10 km). Aproximately 2h30 of travel.
São Paulo to Serra Negra:
-From the West and South Zones of São Paulo: the best option is to take the Bandeirantes Highway (SP-348) to Jundiaí and in Jundiaí take the Estâncias Highway (SP-360) which passes through Amparo towards Águas de Lindóia, Serra Negra is before Águas de Lindóia. Aproximately 2h30 trip.
-Another option from the West and South Zones of São Paulo: take the Bandeirantes or Anhanguera Highway (SP-330) to Campinas and in Campinas head to the Circuito das Águas (Adhemar de Barros Highway (SP-340) to BR-101, then SP-95 (João Beira Highway) towards Jaguariúna, then SP-340 towards Amparo, then follow the signs for Serra Negra). Aproximately 2h30 trip.
-West and South Zones of São Paulo, as above: for those renting a car in Congonhas Airport.
Campinas to Serra Negra:
From Campinas head to the Circuito das Águas (Adhemar de Barros Highway (SP-340) to BR-101, then SP-95 (João Beira Highway) towards Jaguariúna, then SP-340 towards Amparo, then follow the signs for Serra Negra). Aproximately 1h20 trip.
Bus routes
From Cumbica International Airport to Campinas:
Approximate cost of 50 reais and at various times throughout the day (Viação VB Transportes and Viação Cometa). This leg of the journey takes 2h30 minutes.
From São Paulo to Serra Negra:
Only via the Tietê Bus Station. Then the person has to go to Tietê Bus Station by taxi, Uber or subway. The trip takes about 3 hours and the price is around 80 reais.
From Campinas (or Viracopos Airport) to Serra Negra:
It takes approximately 2h15 minutes and the approximate cost is 45 reais. For small groups of 3 people arriving in Viracopos, it may be worth arranging an Uber or Taxi to Serra Negra.
